Carla Bruni channels Audrey
France's first lady, Carla Bruni (40), celebrates Bastille Day with husband President Nikolas Sarkozy.
The bohemian bombshell looks very classic in this pose snapped this morning in Paris.
Her fuchsia silk suit, flats and perfectly coiffed up-do is copiously in keeping with the classic look of a first lady. While many will picture Jackie Kennedy, I can almost see Audrey Hepburn standing there in her 1964 film "Paris When it Sizzles", shown below.
However classically groomed the first lady may be, criticism of her album Comme Si Rien N'Etait (translation: As If Nothing Happened) has abounded since it was released this past Friday. Songs about sex, drugs and rock and roll are the standard fair for most musicians, but the fact that a first lady recorded such tracks has many in France in an uproar. And we thought Diana could P.O. the European establishment ... she's certainly no wallflower.
